About the event

It is from the intersection between a brief program note for Ilimaq, a musical work by John Luther Adams, and a concluding paragraph from the exhibition guide of May I Help You? Posso Ajudar? Artes e artistas da década de 1970 em diante that the public is invited to slow down and inhabit an expanded temporality, where listening becomes an act of presence. Ilimaq means "spirit journey," referring us to silence, stillness, and understanding of the environment around us. Sound becomes a means to experience and perceive the interdependence between body and space. May I Help You? questions, provokes, fragments, and distracts, proposing a meeting space where attention to what surrounds us summons an ethical and political reflection. Both proposals lead us to an aesthetic experience that goes beyond passive contemplation and calls us to active sensory participation, whether through listening to the sound environment in Ilimaq, or by observing the critical dialogue promoted by May I Help You?. On the days of the Música no Museu Cycle, the program A Voz das Cores, from Antena 2, authored by Andrea Lupi, will be entirely dedicated to the concert and the works that can be visited at MAC/CCB. Guided tour by João Mateus at 3:30 PM.
