We want this site to work for everyone, including those who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or high contrast modes.

Conformance goal

We work to meet WCAG 2.2 at Level AA. We have not yet had an external audit, so we do not claim full conformance — what follows is what we know today.

What is already done

  • All pages work with keyboard only and the focus indicator is visible on dark and light backgrounds.
  • There is a link to skip directly to the content.
  • The structure uses correct headings, landmarks, and regions, and the language of each event is identified when it differs from the page language.
  • The site respects the system preference for reduced motion and increased contrast.
  • Text resizes without losing content and no page requires horizontal scrolling.
  • There is no flashing content, nor autoplay of sound or video.

Known limitations

  • The interactive map is visual. All events shown on the map are also in a text list immediately below, with the same information and links.
  • Some events have very short descriptions because the original source does not provide more. We do not invent text to fill in.
  • Automatic translations always identify the original language when there is no reviewed translation.
