«Grammar is not enough to say everything.» Manuel António Pina After its premiere in Porto, False True Stories: A Pina Colagem traveled across the country, passing through Faro and Aveiro, and now arrives at CCB. «We are the trampoline artists, true false pretenders, actors, imitators, players, dancers, singers, storytellers…» For Manuel António Pina (1943—2012), the true and the false, being and seeming, are played out not only on a stage, but above all in the playful space of our imagination. False True Stories: A Pina Colagem lets itself be led by that «bird of the head», starting from a dramaturgy that embraces all the origins of Pina's words — theater, poetry, chronicles — and aims to be for everyone, gigões e anantes. The new artistic director of Teatro Nacional São João, Victor Hugo Pontes, an director and choreographer for whom movement intertwined with the word is a «watchword», builds an (en)chanted, acrobatic and composite universe, set to music by A garota não. False True Stories: A Pina Colagem celebrates the topsy-turvy world of one of our greatest poets (Camões Prize 2011), full of humor, verbal inventiveness and nonsense.
