Gente da Nossa Terra - "Onde a Terra se Faz Palavra - Augusto Abelaira, memória e diálogo entre gerações" by the students of ETPC

The Biblioteca Municipal de Cantanhede hosts, on the 20th of November (Friday) at 10:30 a.m., the session "Onde a Terra se Faz Palavra — Augusto Abelaira, memória e diálogo entre gerações", led by students of the Escola Técnico-Profissional de Cantanhede. Part of the 5th edition of the "Gente da Nossa Terra" cycle, dedicated to the writer Augusto Abelaira, the initiative aims to value his work and career, establishing a connection between literature, the territory and the memory of the local community. The activity is divided into two moments: "A Palavra de Abelaira", dedicated to discovering the writer's work and reflecting on the historical and social context of his time, and "As Palavras que Ficam", focused on collecting memories and testimonies from older generations of the municipality. The testimonies, photographs, objects and other elements collected will later be worked on by the students, giving rise to an artistic production and an exhibition, which will establish a dialogue between Augusto Abelaira's writing, the experiences of previous generations and the gaze of today's young people. An initiative that unites literature, memory and creativity, bringing generations closer through the words and stories of our land. Location: Biblioteca Municipal de Cantanhede.
