Beethoven: Before and Now

Commemorating the double centenary of the death of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770—1827), musicologist Paulo Ferreira de Castro (NOVA FCSH) presents a series of four sessions dedicated to this unavoidable figure in the history of Western music, on February 3 and 17 and March 3 and 17, 2027. These sessions are aimed at all musically interested audiences and are abundantly illustrated with audiovisual materials. Each session will be organized from a different angle, in order to provide a comprehensive view of the composer's life, work, and historical significance.
