the festival of sardine baked on tile and potato baked in sand aims to showcase the gastronomic potential of the Gândara region, particularly promoting these culinary delicacies with their flavors of land and sea. baking potatoes in the sand was a regular practice on Praia da Tocha a few decades ago, associated with the xávega fishing activity, which is intended to be preserved as a cultural, artistic and symbolic value of this region and its people.
