About the event

The show establishes a transdisciplinary dialogue between the sculptures of Sofia de Medeiros, the video art of Nina Medeiros and pieces from the historical costume collection of the National Museum of Costume. Using the traditional corset as a starting point and symbol of oppression, the artists propose a critical and contemporary reflection on the body, gender stereotypes, collective memory and female empowerment.
