Joana Raquel «Queda Áscua»

Seeking an acoustic sound that creates a certain allusion to chamber classical music, Joana Raquel's quintet repertoire embraces spontaneity and is grounded in the concept of song. In the search for a balance between the preconceived and the invented, the music lives on counterpoint, on its harmonic product, and seeks to be rhythmic, doing without its most common protagonist – the drums. Poetry plays a leading role and dictates the construction of everything else, serving as a guiding line for the composition.
