Learning Peace — Conversations for Educators

About the event
Documentary (Premiere) + Conference How do we talk to children about war—and learn from what they have to say about fear, conflict, and coexistence? Based on the show War and Peace, created by Estrutura for young audiences, this conference accredited for teachers proposes a space for dialogue between art, education, citizenship, and critical thinking. At the center of the program is the screening of the documentary Learning Peace, which follows the creative process of the show. More than "talking to" children and young people, Learning Peace affirms the need to imagine with them. Throughout the conference, young participants will also be an active part of the conversation, bringing questions, readings, and experiences that challenge the adult view of what it means to educate for peace today. Between artistic creation, pedagogical reflection, and civic participation, the gathering will bring together Joana Ricarte, Madalena Wallenstein, José Nunes, Cátia Pinheiro, and Paulo Pires do Vale, in a dialogue that crosses cultural programming, philosophy, theater, and education.
