La lhéngua an lhaços (PT)

In this workshop, participants come into contact with the Mirandese language through music and dance, learning one of the "lhaços" associated with the tradition of the pauliteiros of Miranda. Starting with a brief introduction to the Mirandese language and the meaning of the "lhaços," participants are invited to collectively learn the lyrics, rhythm, and movements of a traditional dance, accompanied by bagpipes, snare drum, and bass drum. Led by young pauliteiros and musicians from the Agrupamento de Escolas de Miranda do Douro, this workshop offers a participatory experience where body, voice, and tradition meet in a space of sharing and discovery.
