About the event

Hexalogy dedicated to the Elvas Songbook, a Portuguese manuscript from the third quarter of the 16th century. Divided into two parts, the project sings the 65 secular songs preserved in the codex: vilancetes (or villancicos), cantigas, tercets, and other poetic-musical forms (volumes 1 to 3) and proposes new music, by Filipe Faria and Sérgio Peixoto, for the 36 romances, glosses, vilancetes, and cantigas found there without music (volumes 4 to 6). Pre-concert talk by Manuel Pedro Ferreira at 7:30 PM. El Corte Inglés supports the CCB Classical Music Mediation Program. Accessibility: Performance with Portuguese Sign Language interpretation.
