About the event
The Orquestra do Norte presents itself in the Small Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Belém in a commented concert focused on the splendor of Spanish music. Under the direction of principal conductor Fernando Marinho, the program features seminal works that define Spain's musical identity, offering an engaging artistic experience. The musical journey begins with the overture to Los Esclavos Felices, by Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, a work that reveals the elegance and brilliance of one of the most notable talents in Spanish music. The highlight of the concert is the iconic Concierto de Aranjuez, by Joaquín Rodrigo, where the solo guitar takes on the role of protagonist, alternating moments of lyricism and virtuosity with the orchestra. The journey continues with the rhythmic energy of Manuel de Falla, through a suite from the ballet El Sombrero de Tres Picos, culminating in the famous and hypnotic Danza ritual del fuego, from the work El Amor Brujo. Concert commented by Susana Henriques. El Corte Inglés supports the CCB Classical Music Mediation Programme.
