DESCRIPTION:'I always wake up earlier than the alarm clock to avoid the tr
aumatic experience of being woken up.' Slavoj Žižek (Too Late to Awaken:
What Lies Ahead When There Is No Future) LEX is a company that survives i
n a strict hierarchical system\, where the strongest — or at least the s
martest — wins\, but where they are all part of the family. They are all
employees\, but the market is free to do what it wants. It is at this com
pany that Jorge\, a single father\, works. Deluded by false hopes of a bet
ter future\, he subserviently accepts all demands from his superiors. He i
s pushed into an innovative productivity program to prove his commitment a
nd debt to the company. (It will be so worth it!) The effort will be rewar
ded\, and hope is the last to die. The person dies first\, and only then h
ope. Accessibility: Performance with Portuguese Sign Language interpretati
on on October 11 at 5:00 PM.
