DESCRIPTION:On the day the newsroom of a small independent investigative j
 ournalism project says goodbye to what was its first home\, Carolina retur
 ns after a long absence. Her return will confront her with the newspaper's
  new paradigm and lift the veil on several delicate pending matters. A pla
 y about press freedom and fundamental values\, within a group where profes
 sional ties are intertwined with intimate relationships of love and friend
 ship\, and where each person deals\, in their own way\, with a recent trau
 ma that affected them all. The play explores complex moral and ethical dil
 emmas\, the tension between ideals and survival\, and the personal cost of
  seeking the truth in a system that penalizes dissent. Smoke is a reflecti
 on on loyalty\, friendship\, and the compromises demanded when confronting
  injustice. The text was written within the framework of the international
  project Writing on New Realities\, based on artistic residencies in Portu
 gal and Turkey. It was published in a Turkish edition by Habitus Kitap (20
