DESCRIPTION:SEPTEMBER 1 TO 30. OURÉM MUNICIPAL LIBRARY "Giants of Science
 " was organized on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of Rómulo – Cent
 ro Ciência Viva da Universidade de Coimbra. This exhibition showcases som
 e of the great names in science\, from Aristotle to Albert Einstein\, thro
 ugh Isaac Newton and Marie Curie. "If I have seen further it is by standin
 g on the shoulders of giants". The authorship of the phrase is attributed 
 to Isaac Newton\, known for his experiments in optics\, the laws of motion
  and the Principle of Universal Gravitation. It was from here that the nam
 e of the exhibition emerged\, bringing together 18 scientists known for th
 eir contributions to science. From Mathematics to Astronomy\, from Physics
  to Chemistry\, from Biology to Medicine\, it is possible to better unders
 tand who the "Giants of Science" were and what they did. An exhibition tha
 t aims to disseminate the history of science\, "emphasizing the fact that 
 it is a human construction\, made from careful observation of the world" (
