 ipzig (1726)\, respectively\, are here combined with impressive works by S
 carlatti and Stradella. The distance between the austerity of Lutheran pie
 ty and the ardent "emotionalism" of the Mediterranean may seem insurmounta
 ble\, however Bach so admired the compositions of his Neapolitan colleague
 s that he made his own "parody" of them in his output. In this concert\, D
 ivino Sospiro and Ann Hallenberg demonstrate equal mastery in both idioms.
