DESCRIPTION:Every two years\, the opening of Mostra Espanha is marked by a
  'Featured Work' which\, in 2026\, takes the plural form with Maruja Mallo
 . There are two pieces in tune with the motto of this edition\, 'Spain in 
 motion: diversity and sustainable futures'\, and with three of its themati
 c axes: art\, culture\, oceans and sustainability\; art\, ecology and clim
 ate change\; and art\, culture\, borders and ruralities. Basuras (1930) an
 d Naturaleza viva (1943) represent two visions of the work of the avant-ga
 rde artist and take us on a journey from the grey suburbs of pre-war Madri
 d to the fullness of colour of the Chilean beaches of Valparaíso\, during
  her American exile.
