DESCRIPTION:Beethoven's 'Eroica' marked a historic turning point by elevat
 ing the symphony to a large-scale epic drama that stages the heroic design
 s of struggle\, crisis and triumphant overcoming. It added to the score th
 e affirmation of ideals\, substantiating narrative conceptions. In short\,
  it transformed the way music is heard and understood. Completed two years
  later\, in 1806\, the Violin Concerto did not have the same immediate imp
 act. Several decades had to pass\, but it became a warhorse of the violin 
 repertoire. Leading the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa will be two grea
 t violinists: Enrico Onofri\, this time as conductor\, a role in which he 
 also excels\, and Sergej Krylov\, who lends his refined virtuosity to the
