DESCRIPTION:The first retrospective dedicated to the drawings of Marisol E
 scobar (Paris\, 1930 – New York\, 2016)\, bringing together more than 10
 0 works produced from the 1950s until her death. Shown alongside sculpture
 s that extend her drawing practice into three dimensions\, archival materi
 als\, and several Andy Warhol films in which she participated\, the works
 —almost entirely from the collection of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum—hig
 hlight drawing\, the medium through which she expressed global concerns\, 
 personal discomforts\, and imaginative fictions\, as the thread running th
 rough her career. The title refers to the question that gallerist Leo Cast
 elli asked in the late 1950s—'How can you leave when things are just beg
 inning?'—echoing the artist's decision to step away from the art world a
 t crucial moments that involved the transformation of her work. Curated by
  Laura Vallés Vílchez. Exhibition co-produced by MAC/CCB and Fundación 
 Botín\, Santander. Conceived in collaboration with the Buffalo AKG Art Mu
